Geologic Engineering
  • We provided rock slope engineering, design and construction monitoring for residential development sites within former trap rock quarries, with quarry walls ranging from 40 to 120 feet in height. We have also performed hundreds of investigations throughout the Carbonate Rock Region of Western New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania.

×
The removal of a large block of unstable rock along a quarry wall of the Great Notch residential development

×
Remedial treatment includes construction of rock fall catchment ditches, fencing, and design of protective netting.

×
Trim blasting of overhanging portions of the rock slope, scaling of loose rock and design of bolting and shotcrete soil nail walls stabilize former quarry slopes.

×
Our carbonate rock investigations include design of repairs to active sinkholes as well as pre-construction assessments and developing procedures to minimize the potential for sinkhole occurance after construction.

×
Sinkhole remediation often includes grouting, filling with flowable fill, or constructing concrete caps and backfilling with soil.
